Several free car parks for cars and campers are located 200 and 400 m from the reception of the Fortress (avenue François Mitterrand).

Two parking spaces are reserved for people with disabilities, close to the reception building.

Lockers are available in the reception building. A 50 cent coin is required for their use. They can accommodate small backpacks or bicycle luggage.

For larger luggage and small trailers, lockable boxes are available in the car park located 200 meters from the Fortress.

Bicycle parking is available at the north and south entrances of the Fortress.

Pets are allowed in the park on a leash. In the buildings, only animals carried in arms or in a bag are accepted.

Guide dogs for the blind are accepted in the interiors.

The entrance to the Fortress and the guided tours offered throughout the year are accessible without reservation.

However, guided tours for groups are by reservation only.

There is no special ticket to bypass queues. All visitors, including those who have purchased their tickets on the website Online ticketing (departement-touraine.fr) must go to the reception desk.

E-tickets purchased on the Ticketing website Online ticketing (departement-touraine.fr) except when the visitor is unable to access the fortress due to exceptional closure of the site. Visitors may, however, change the date of their visit, provided that this is done 12 hours in advance and up to a limit of 10 times. 

Tickets purchased on site are valid on the day of purchase.

E-tickets are valid on the date of the visit indicated at the time of purchase.

Yes, we accept ANCV holiday vouchers in paper form (not dematerialized) and only for the purchase of tickets for the Royal Fortress of Chinon.

It takes an average of 2 hours to visit the entire site (the royal dwellings, the towers and the park).

The guided tour lasts 40 minutes outdoors.

The workshops or activities presented during the school holidays or the summer season last between 40 minutes and 1 hour.

Guided tours are included in the entrance fee.
