Henry II Plantagenet, Duke of Normandy, Count of Anjou and Maine, became King of England.
He was an itinerant king who travelled his empire accompanied by his entourage and his administration.
During his reign, he spent about 70% of his time on his continental territories (in France) and only 30% in England. He spent most of his time on horseback, on uncomfortable roads.
