At the Royal Fortress of Chinon
A guide from the Fortress takes you on a specially created guided tour. She discusses wine in the Middle Ages through the role and functions attributed to it, who drank it and how... Taking advantage of the temporary exhibition ‘Royal Treasures’, she will show you sumptuous objects that the powerful, princes and kings placed on their banquet tables or in their china cabinets. Particular attention is paid to glasses, goblets and silver-plated wine cups. You will learn more about wine in the Middle Ages and the evolution of this prestigious tableware used to enjoy it.
