The Royal Fortress of Chinon invites you to take part in a series of original tours as part of its "Meeting in the gardens" programme:
For this "Meeting in the gardens" weekend, the Royal Fortress of Chinon invites you to awaken your senses in our park.
The history of this wooded area, its trees and plants, and the special features of the plants in the new medieval-inspired small garden will be revealed to you.
To complete this sensory immersion, two different family activities are on offer on Saturday and Sunday.
11 am: tataki zome activity. Tataki zome is a traditional Japanese technique meaning ‘to dye (zome) by hammering (tataki)’. A nod to our Sophora Japonica, classified as a remarkable tree in 2023.
3.30 pm: herbarium activity. You'll go home with a herbarium and a small collection of the plants found in the park.
Price: free for under-18s; regular price for adults.
Booking recommended for both activities.
Duration: 1 hour
