As part of the 8th Les Nourritures élémentaires festival, Gérard Garouste's La Dive Bacbuc is on show at the Forteresse Royale in Chinon from 21 October to 5 November (Yves Dauge room, reception building). The artist, who conceived this monumental work in 1998, was inspired by Rabelais. In Rabelais, the prophetess Bacbuc brings Panurge the word of the Dive Bouteille: "trinch" ("drink"), an exhortation to drink and seek the truth.
