A Magical day on Saturday 19 December 2026!

The fortress will be open until 8 p.m. as a special exception

To kick off the end-of-year holidays, there’s nothing better than a day filled with a rich and varied program at one of the Loire Valley castles!

Starting at 10:45 a.m., a Kamishibai storytelling session is offered for the youngest visitors.

At 3:00 p.m., the Christmas guided tour immerses you in both the history and the Christmas decorations of the Land of Fairies.

Running continuously from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the “Instant Past: The Age of Photography” event
You’ll discover the world of early photography through vintage cameras and documents, participate in a photo-novel workshop, and follow the trail of a mysterious photographer. This event is presented in partnership with the Indre-et-Loire Departmental Archives.

This Saturday, the Fortress will be open to the public after dark… From 5 pm until 8 pm, you can enjoy the Christmas trail and the ‘Awen’ musical walk by the Tan Elleil theatre company.

People no longer tread the paths of dreams and poetry, having gradually lost their way. Awen, the great White Stag, then emerges from the Mists to enchant the world within a bubble of gentleness and poetry. Nimue, like a muse, guides him through this universe that is not his own... Carried along by gentle, spellbinding music, Awen creates a timeless interlude that gives everyone the chance to marvel and be moved.
The audience is swept away into a moment like no other… just as only the magic of Christmas can transport us.
